Thr trans just would not shift right, then burned up. We took it out got it fixed and it felt like it was going to do the same thing, on the gas when it shifted it would roll into gear, which got worse the more throttle I gave it. So after one run on the 2nd trans I figured I better just stop and have the guy look at it, not just let it burn up again. Just seems like the engine overpowers it.

I know the builder he's good people, I just don't think he knew what I had since he never saw the truck before he built the trans. This engine has torn up a few stick shift transmissions as well so we'll see how it goes. I don't have all that much horsepower just a shi%load of bottom end grunt.

So here's what I got done today , basically jacked the truck up , pulled the tire off , put a jackstand under the axle , pulled the cover off the hub , posed for a picture and then went to the movies  Cheesy

Needless to say , I didn't get much accomplished  Embarrassed  . It looks like what broke was the outer . I'll work on it later this week , I need to get it ready for the Bender run at the end of the month .

 So I FINALLY got back to working on this thing . I can't afford to buy 35 spline shafts AND hubs before next weekend so I bought another set of 30 splines for $40 yesterday . I got new U-joints coming from my buds at Inland but they wont be in till Monday , so I will be putting it back together during the week . Taking it to the Hammers for the Bender Jambo next weekend .

I finally got my internet hooked up at our new place , so here are a couple of recent pics . These are from the Midnight Brawl last month . I lead a group up Sledge Hammer so I didn't really get a chance to take any pics and I didn't have anyone to take pics of me so unfortunately I have no action shots . So here are the only few I was able to take . At the end of the trail someone noticed one of my shackle plates had broke , that was the only carnage on the Macho Taco . Big props to Fernando and Carlos for welding it up for me . We finished the trail just before 6 am , so these pics are from about that time :

I was suposed to be at the Rubicon right now but my tow rig decided to blow a head gasket . It's been at the shop for two weeks now , it was suposed to be done last Saturday , then they pushed it to Tuesday and then they pushed it again to Thursday , so I was gonna head out late night Thursday . Well , they STILL didn't finish it so needless to say , I couldn't make the trip . I will be going to the shop to fight with them first thing in the morning .

Actually overheating caused it to do that . So I picked it up yesterday and got it home , everything was cool and I drove it again today and it overheated AGAIN  Angry  . So it's now BACK at the shop .

I know how that fills. Tow rig been in the shop for 3 weeks now. Was only going to take a 1 week. Picking it tomorrow not fully done(Body shop missing some trim) then to the dealer ship for a recall  Roll Eyes And I can't hook up my trailer to go buy steel to get my truck done. Going to be a tight dead line

That sucks bro . . . So they called me today , the radiator and fan clutch were shot . They are putting a new radiator and fan clutch in and not charging me labor .

So I finally got to working on my toy to get it ready for Tin Benders this weekend . I broke the two bolts that thread into the front 60 on the flip plate at TDS last month . Both bolts sheared off flush with the housing so I had to extract them . The first one was fairly easy but the second one gave me a little bit of a struggle but they are both out .

HEY PEPS I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM ON THAT CHEVY 60 BRAKING THE BOLTS. WHEN TRYING TO GET THE BROKEN HALF OUT JUST WELD A NUT TO IT AND WRENCH IT OUT. WAY EASYER.. ALSO I WENT TO A U BOLT AND PUT A SMALL NOTCH IN THE BOTTOM TO HOLD IT IN PLACE...PROBLEM FIXED...GOOD LUCK...

I went to the Bender Jambo/Clean-Up this past weekend at the Hammers . Had a great time , I ran Jack Hammer and one of my shackles broke at the end . We were gonna run Jack and then drop down into Bender Alley but after that we went back to camp . I was gonna fix it and head back out but running on one hour of sleep from the previous night and being in the sun all day kinda drained me so I didn't really feel like wrenching . I will be back out there soon . Here is a couple pictures my buddy Pikaso took with his camera . I will post mine a little later :

Here's a couple new pics from 2 weeks back . We ran Motino Trail , nice trail but we went in through rattle snake canyon and had to drive about 12 miles through the desert and it was really hot .

Actually , there wasn't much carnage . The only thing that happened was my battery tray broke and my battery slid down and hit the fan and ripped the return hose on my steering box . It was the result of hauling ass (as much ass as a 4 cyl hauls  Cheesy )through the desert . We were able to repair it fairly quickly and continued on . . . I hate carnage  Cool
